Ruby mine is about 2 miles from the homestead up the mountain. It is the gateway to the Rabbit Ears peaks. There is an old home along with an open mine. Beautiful purple fluorite.

Baylor Canyon
Baylor Canyon trailhead is 1.6 miles from the homestead. It is a moderate 3.5 miles hike to the top. Nice views of White Sands from the top.
:Yellow Rock, Gateway to the Needles Organ national monument
The Needles are a peak within the Organ Mountains. These peaks are right above the visitors center for the Organ Mountain National Monument.
