We left the lovely Kayenta Inn today to travel to Grand Canyon. Beautiful day to travel and enjoy the sights. And, you won't believe what we did today. We actually walked in (fossilized) dinosaur tracks including raptors and terronosaurus rex (sp)! The exhibit, hosted by the Navajo Indians on their lands, was on the way to Grand Canyon, just one mile off our route.
Don near a trail of raptor dinosaur tracks as they were originally laid!
Any guesses on what this is? Fossilized (or petrified) dinosaur poop. Really!
Here we are (below) at the t-rex footprint. The three digits are outlined with small stones and our Indian guide, Christina, cut off some of the bottom of the track. Huge and absolutely amazing these footprints are out here in (what seems to us) the middle of nowhere. WOW!
Christina told us this was a finger (or toe) nail from a dinosaur.
On the road again going to Grand Canyon.
