I had to get some exercise so after checking in at the Red Cliffs Ranch and Lodge I hiked down to the Colorado River. The river was high from the rains yesterday and was really moving. I walked the banks looking for fossils but it was hard not to look at the scenery. I managed to find a bunch of interesting rocks. It is getting time to start mailing back home our cache of rocks. We have been carrying around bags of rocks since Topaz mountain.
This piece of petrified wood may be going on our fireplace mantle. Picked from the bank of the Colorado River.
