City of Rocks State Park & New Home

Well we have it.  A new address and place to live.  26 Goathead Pass, Silver City, NM.  It will not be our mailing address.  We will get that tomorrow when we visit the Post Office and they will give us a mailing address.  We are very excited.  We have one helluva southwest view of the mountains and sunsets will be fantastic.  We have just as many pot holes in our access road as we had on Lighthouse Lane on Tybee.  For some reason we cannot get away from dirt roads.

We visited this huge copper mine yesterday.  It is the oldest continually operational copper mine in the US and it produces one pound of copper for every person in the US annually.  HUGE operation.

We visited the City of Rocks State Park today.  Monoliths were incredible and similar groupings are only found in six places in the world.  Formed by volcano flows being eroded by wind/water.  Really beautiful.  Very windy day!  Had our favorite picnic lunch of pb&js with potato chips.  It's great being in between doctors (who check your cholesterol and sugar levels!)  Watched out for scorpians and rattlesnakes! There are so many neat places to check out quite close by Silver City.

Home at last!  We found a nice 1700' 2 bedroom/2bathroom house in the country (but just a few  miles from Silver City), just a mile down the road from the KOA cabin we've been staying at.

Such a relief to have a nice house to live in. We will pick up a couple recliners and mattresses and move in on the 15th!  New landlord is a nice guy, whose son is at West Point.  It's all good.
